The Client: Athelo Health
Athelo Health helps all women - regardless of their access to resources – navigate their cancer care journey with trusted scientific information, supportive community, and personalized recommendations based upon their unique experience. Athelo was built out of a deep and personal understanding of the founders that not everyone has access to the same resources when going through oncology care.
The Challenge:
Athelo Health is dedicated to providing top-tier, evidence-based yet easily understandable content available wherever patients have a phone and internet access. They hired Well Made Health to create a content strategy and write the patient-facing articles that were a core product offering.
The Solution:
Well Made Health conducted a market analysis of what other cancer support apps and websites were offering to patients to identify educational table stakes as well as gaps. From there, WMH created a content strategy document which identified 13 top-level content focus areas, such as treatment options, clinical trials, health and wellness, financial health, queer and trans care, and social and family support, among others. The next phase of the work included writing in-app content in partnership with other Athelo Health writers and overseeing the work of graduate student contributors. At the end of the engagement, Athelo Health was able to utilize the content strategy document to create additional future content and upload content written and edited by WMH to launch their app on the app stores and in partnership with a state public health program.
