Katie’s Notebook: December 12, 2023

Is it “let’s circle back after the holidays” season yet? If not, it’s full tilt fun season. So far we’ve been to a Christmas Crafts morning, my husband’s work holiday party, a caroling + dinner party (where my four year old demonstrated her love for her new ukulele), Disney on Ice, and I hosted a gathering of lady friends (10/10 recommend an afternoon hanging out with your besties over some cocktails, charcuterie, and cookies.) I love holiday clothes and I’ve worn these fun shoes, this professional red dress with a blazer, a tartan shift dress, and my new favorite party dress.

Here are my 5 shares for this week:

1. I was in NYC last week for the Node Health Digital Medicine Conference for a glorious 36 hours and penned my thoughts about the event on LinkedIn.

2. ICYMI: I published a list of resources for female founders here and some hard earned advice on the blog — 5 pitfalls to avoid as a start up founder.

3. I make this pecan (Pee-CAHN) pie recipe every year for Thanksgiving and I think it would be hit for your Christmas spread as well.

4. Ugh. Tech bros, this won’t fix healthcare.

5. Applications are open for the CancerX startup accelerator until Dec 15! It is the first-ever national cancer innovation accelerator initiative with public support from the White House.

Wishing you a pleasant holiday season filled with hot chocolate, cozy movies on the couch, and some time to rest and recharge.

Be well,

Katie
